Basketball club in Powys to continue throughout summer
Mid Wales Basketball's exciting, popular and fun basketball club for young people continues throughout the summer at the Flash Leisure Centre in Welshpool, Powys. With qualified coaches to run sessions and cater for all abilities, anyone from the age of eight to sixteen is welcome to turn up and learn with other players of similar experience.
The club meets from 10.30am-12.00pm every Saturday, and is overseen by Wales international, former British Universities' champion, and Level 3 qualified coach Guy Evans. The club was established two years ago due to the growing demand for alternative activities to promote active, healthy lifestyles for youngsters. Over the past two years, over 60 young people have attended to have a go at basketball and learn new skills.
A summer league will be established in July 2010 for players wishing to play competitive basketball, and Mid Wales representative teams for different ages are also in the works.
